  39. Anyway, the show 48 Hours last night broadcast about
  40. the search for UFO's.  I found most of it rather hokey,
  41. and (in all honesty) rather humorous.
  42.  
  43. What got my attention, however, was the segment on the 
  44. radio-telescope facility that was scanning the skies in
  45. search of hopeful radio contact, or sounds, or, well, 
  46. anything out of the norm.  They had 37 signals they 
  47. could not identify.  
  48.  
  49. Now, my question is, does anybody know what frequencies
  50. these 37 signals were heard on?  I'm just curious.

  90. You did not mention anything about frequencies. You can not use
  91. amateur radio frequencies just because you have a license! There are
  92. licensing procedures etc.

  103. Hi all. In recent weeks I have searched many ftp sites for orbit
  104. determination software - that is, software for  calculating the orbit
  105. parameters of the sattelite given data such as measured Ra and Dec from
  106. a given ground stations(s), or doppler (i.e. velocity) readings from such
  107. stations. While there are many excellent shareware packages available for
  108. orbit calculation or tracking (that is, given the orbital parameters where
  109. will the sat be at time T), I have failed to find any for my 'Inverse'
  110. problem. Any info will be of help.

  146. This is a informal request to see if there is enough interest to warrant a
  147. new news group. The driving factors in this interest are, the apparent
  148. demise of the vhf list run out of Stanford University and the lack of any
  149. other news group for this area. The major unknown is if there is enough
  150. interest to set up a formal RFD/CFV for this area.

  152. While my primary interest is in the weak signal area, I have also noticed
  153. a general need in areas of ATV, Repeaters, FM, etc. So I envision the
  154. charter as being read very broadly, to include all areas of VHF/UHF/SHF
  155. interest, except RC, satellite, and packet (as they have their own forums)
  156.
